Our lives are comprised of constant - and often simultaneous - transitions that involve relationship issues, job changes, residential moves, raising children, and caring for aging parents. It can be difficult to manage these situations, much less hold onto your own hopes and dreams. Over time, this struggle can be overwhelming and cause you to feel anxious, confused, or depressed. In these times, we often turn to our network of family and friends for support and advice. However, while these people care for us, they're not always objective and may speak from their own best interests rather than ours.
As a mental health counselor, your goals, interests, and passions are the most important ingredients in my relationship with you. I believe the answer is inside you - and that my job is to help you find it. To do so, I will work with you to identify patterns, thoughts, and behaviors that keep you from coping effectively, making decisions, and moving forward in your life. I then help you develop skills that allow you to not only cope with change, but make choices in your life each day that honor the integrity of who you are and help you create the life you want - and deserve.
